Charities

We are proud to be working with the following charities in 2021.

Conscious Chocolate

We work on land and sea, from mountain tops to the seabed, from hidden valleys and coves to city streets. Wherever you are, Wildlife Trust people, places and projects are never far away, improving life for wildlife and people together. For more than a century, we have been saving wildlife and wild places and helping people to get closer to nature.

We look after more than 2,300 nature reserves, covering 104,000 hectares (each hectare is equivalent to a football field in size!), and operate more than 100 visitor and education centres in every part of the UK, on Alderney and the Isle of Man.

We work closely with schools, colleges and universities, with hundreds of farmers and landowners, fishermen and divers; with thousands of companies, big and small; with community groups and other environmental organisations; with lotteries, charitable trusts and foundations; with politicians from across the political spectrum; with local and national governments and more.

Together, we are tackling the climate and nature crisis – starting with the ambition of 30% of the UK’s land and seas connected and protected for nature by 2030 – so that we might all enjoy a wilder future.

Each year we wait anxiously for the ‘rains’ to begin to mark the planting season.  This year the March-May rains allowed us to plant 3,900 trees (1,500 Mvule; 1,200 Terminalia and 1,200 Musizi).  In the second rains starting in early August, we have planted 5,600 trees (2,000 Mvule; 3,000 Terminalia and 600 Musizi) – a total for the year up to end of August of 9,500 trees.
